It is rare for a single-player game to drive so much viewership on Twitch, but few games have been more highly anticipated than Cyberpunk 2077. It accounted for substantial viewership on the top two channels this week.
On the content side we see Fortnite retain some of the momentum it gained from the Galactus event, while the Among Us trend continues to wind down.
Twitch’s Top Channel – xQc
Félix “xQc” Lengyel continues to stand strong at the top of the Twitch charts, once again participating in the week’s leading trend. While Lengyel was the most popular streamer to play Cyberpunk 2077, he was not the most-watched streamer for that game. That title went to Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, whose rare turn as a single-player game streamer helped propel him to second place this week, generating 3.64M hours watched.
It was also another big week for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports as multiple channels on the Top 10 were broadcasting the BLAST Premier Fall Final. The main BLAST channel accrued more than 3M hours watched over the course of the week.
Twitch’s Top Content – Just Chatting
Cyberpunk 2077 would have easily topped the Twitch charts were it not for Just Chatting now resting comfortably above 50M hours watched week after week. Still, the new release was comfortably in second place at 45.22M hours watched, well ahead of third-place Fortnite’s 28.19M. As a story-driven game, Cyberpunk 2077 will have a steep drop in viewership when the popular streamers finish their playthrough.
Also of note, World of Warcraft saw an increase in viewership week-over-week, bucking the typical post-release downturn. That growth will likely continue for the time being as the biggest names in the game prepare for the Race to World First.
