Comcast Spectacor Appoints Andrea Agnew as VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Comcast Spectacor has established a new position, vice president of diversity, equity & inclusion, and appointed 14-year Comcast human resources veteran Andrea Agnew as the first person to fill the role. Agnew will join the company’s senior leadership team to “guide and implement Comcast Spectacor’s strategy and commit to diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization’s portfolio.”

In addition to the company’s esports division, Spectacor Gaming (which also operates the Philadelphia Fusion), Agnew’s responsibilities will include the Philadelphia Flyers, Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia Wings, and Maine Mariners.

Comcast Spectacor has already taken significant strides for inclusion in esports this year. Its women’s initiative FTW became the first organizer to be given official pro tournament-level status for an all-women Valorant tournament. Last month, the team that won FTW’s Summer Showdown, MAJKL, was signed by Cloud9 as a sister team to its pro roster.

This summer, Comcast announced a multi-year plan to allocate $100M USD “to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability.”
