Ball State University Cuts Ribbon on New 3,611 Square-Foot Esports Center – The Esports Observer

Ball State University is the latest to go all-in on esports as the university announced on Monday that it had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on a new 3,611 square-foot esports center. The new facility will be the home of the Ball State University varsity esports program and will also serve as an instructional area. BSU fields teams in Overwatch, Rocket League, Valorant, and League of Legends.

While the facility will serve as the training center and competition arena for BSU, the space also features a 6-vs-6 arena with seating for 50 spectators and an interactive classroom with 24 PCs. Alienware PCs power the 12 competition and 24 classroom seats.

BSU is a part of the Esports Collegiate Conference (ESC) which was founded in 2020 by the 12 Mid-American Conference schools and has recently expanded by adding Northeastern University.
