$100K PGL Apex Legends Showdown Announced

Esports tournament organizer PGL announced Wednesday a global online competition for Electronic Arts’ battle royale game, Apex Legends. The PGL Apex Legends Showdown will feature a $100K USD total prize pool and provide participants with points towards the official Apex Legends Global Series

The competition is open to players in North America, Europe, South America, APAC North, APAC South, and the Middle East & Africa. Qualifiers for the event will be held online Oct. 20 – 21, with the best 20 teams from each region playing in the finals Oct. 24 – 25. PGL will broadcast the European finals on Oct. 24 and the North American finals Oct. 25. 

PGL also provided a breakdown of prize money distributed by region:  

 North America – $30K

  • 1st – $12K
  • 2nd – $6K
  • 3rd – $3.6K
  • 4th – $2.4K
  • 5th – $1.8K
  • 6th – $1.3K
  • 7th – $960
  • 8th – $780
  • 9th – $630
  • 10th – $480

Europe – $30K

  • 1st – $12K
  • 2nd – $6K
  • 3rd – $3.6K
  • 4th – $2.4K
  • 5th – $1.8K
